Our department offers postgraduate and doctoral degree programs that focus on various aspects of urban and regional planning, including housing and real estate development, sustainable land use planning, urban transportation planning, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation and environmental management. Our faculty members are experts in their fields, with diverse research interests and expertise in the latest planning theories and practices. Our programs are structured to foster a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach to urban and regional planning, drawing on the latest research and best practices from related fields such as architecture, environment, civil engineering, urban-informatics, and social sciences. We strive to develop socially responsible planners who are equipped to address the complex challenges facing urban and rural settlements today. These challenges include rapid population growth and urbanization, lack of affordable housing, traffic congestion and inadequate public transportation, environmental degradation and pollution, social inequality and exclusion, urban sprawl and lack of green spaces, aging infrastructure and urban decay, climate change and disasters, etc. We are proud of our planners, who are leaders in the field of urban and regional planning, working for government agencies, private firms, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. Our graduates are making a significant impact in their communities and contributing to the development of sustainable, resilient, and equitable cities and regions.
