Summary

Dr. Hammad Anis Khan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Structural Engineering at the NUST Institute of Civil Engineering (NICE). His interest lies in the domain of multi-scale (materials to structures) and multi-disciplinary (physics, chemistry, and mechanics) research, focusing on low-carbon concrete structures, sustainable constructions, serviceability, and durability. He has investigated the development of performance-based specifications for low-carbon concretes, such as geopolymer concrete, or blended cement-based concrete using alternative supplementary cementitious materials, service life design of sustainable concretes in severe environments, like sewage environment and fire. He has published 11 refereed Q1 journal papers, obtained more than 450 citations, presented more than 04 papers at international conferences, and has a Scopus H-index of 8. He got his bachelor’s in civil engineering in 2012 from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Taxila and secured the overall 2nd Position in his batch with a CGPA of 3.90. He holds an MSc in Structural Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, and completed this degree with the highest CGPA of 4.0 in his batch and was awarded a President’s Gold Medal in 2015. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia in 2019. He also received a special award (A.C Kennett) in an international conference of the Australasian Corrosion and Prevention Conference held in Adelaide, Australia for the best paper that deals with the corrosion or degradation of non-metallic materials in 2018.
