Dr. Ather Ali is currently serving as Assistant Professor in Structural Engineering at NUST Institute of Civil Engineering (NICE), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad. Formerly, he has served as the first Head of Civil Engineering Department at NUST Balochistan Campus (2019-2020). During his academic career, Dr Ather have also proven to be a sensational academician by winning several competitive scholarships and awards, being the only engineering candidate from Pakistan who won the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship twice for both his degrees of MSc in Structural Engineering (2010) and PhD in Civil Engineering (2012) from the University of Manchester. Dr Ather has actively supervised UG projects and PG theses in computational analysis, material technology and structural retrofitting of RCC and Masonry structures, which has been published in prestigious peer-reviewed journals. Dr Ather has expertise in linear and non-linear analysis of brittle heterogeneous materials. He is proficient in the use modern tools for numerical simulations and programming, such as Etabs, Abaqus, Python, Matlab, etc.
